Reusable content
Content from one Omnia page can be reused on another Omnia page. It’s true for variations as well. To be more precise, it’s content from defined properties that are being reused, so applicable blocks or sections must be present on the target page, for information to show up. For more information on reusing sections, see the bottom of the page.
A property that is not shown for users can be reused as well, for example Review date.
Prerequisite: “Enable reuse content” must be turned on in the publishing app settings, see: Publishing app settings
If you encounter the message “the page is not reusable”, see the bottom of the page.

Important notes
When using reusable content, it’s important to be aware of:
Blocks and sections with reused content are locked on the target page. They can not be edited there. Reused content can only be edited on the source page.
The editor working with reusable content on the source page must have editing permissions on the target pages as well.
To be able to reuse content from a section (available in Omnia 7.11 and later) that section must be of type “Reusable”, set up in Page types.
A Reusable section can’t be moved or copied.
You can’t move a block within the section if the section has been used for reusable content at least once.
A Reusable section can’t contain a block that uses a property for some or all content.
Reuse content
When you are editing a page where you want to reuse content from another page, do this:
Open the action menu at the bottom right:
Select REUSEABLE CONTENT.
The following is shown:
Click ADD SOURCE PAGE.
The page picker starts and you use it to select a source page or variation. See this page for more information on how to use the page picker: Page picker
The properties that are or can be reused on the target page are listed, for example:
If you don’t want to reuse content from a certain property, click the dust bin to remove it from the list.
If additional properties are available, you can add any of them - so the content can be reused - using the “Select property” list. You can edit the reuse list any time you are editing the target page, so you can add or remove reusable properties as needed.
Also note that blocks reusing content are indicated this way, which you can see when editing a page:
If you are reusing properties used for settings, that is indicated as well, with a dotted line at the bottom of the field, for example:
In this example, three of the property fields are being reused from another page: Page contact, Applies to, and Preview before.
The page is not reusable
If you encounter the message “the page is not reusable”, here’s the steps to take:
Verify that reusable content is enabled in Publishing app settings.
Verify that the page type includes a Reusable section mapped to the correct Data property.
Verify that the source and target pages use the expected page type.
Editing the source page
When the source page is edited and then published, a check is executed. Published target pages are listed and it’s noted if publication to the target pages worked.
Here’s an example:
Deleting the source page
If the source page is deleted, nothing happens to the pages with reused content. They remain in place with the latest information from the source page still there. These pages can then continue to be used as they are, and edited if needed, or be removed the normal way.
Automatic page creation
Content can also be reused in automatic page creation. For more information, see: Automatic page creation
