Tabs - Omnia Feed

Use the settings here to edit tabs for this business profile in Omnia Feed.

In Omnia 11 and later, the Query tab is replaced with the Multiple query tab, with new and extended options. If you’re updating from an earlier Omnia version, the settings you have made for the Query tab will be migrated to the Multiple query tab. If you’re using Omnia 10 and earlier, you should still be able to use this documentation. The differences are noted below.

Here’s an example with a number of tabs set up:

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-tabs-v711.png
  • PUBLISH/UNPUBLISH: Use this to enable/disable this configuration in Omnia Feed.

To edit settings for one of the existing tabs, click the pen. To delete it, click the dust bin.

All settings used when adding a new tab can be edited, except the tab type, see below.

When any settings for tabs are done, users that already are using the app will be prompted to restart the app. After restart, users will see the changes.

Adding a new tab

To add a new tab, click the plus. Then select the type of tab you want to add (image from Omnia 7.11).

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-tabs-select-711.png

In Omnia 7.10 and earlier, you will se a Query tab instead of the Multiple query tab. Differences are noted below.

Common settings

For all tabs, these settings are always available:

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-tabs-general-v711-1.png ../../../../_images/omnia-feed-tabs-general-v711-2.png

Title, Icon type and Icon can be selected the same way as in many other options in Omnia.

Targeting settings work the same way as in many other parts of Omnia, described here: Using targeting

Multiple query tab

As the title implies, this tab can be used for multiple queries. This tab replaces the Query tab from earlier Omnia versions. To use one or more queries on this tab, click ADD QUERY, and select query type:

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-tabs-query-mulitple-type-v711.png

The query types “Forms” and “Sign-off request” are available in 7.11 and later, not available for the Query tab.

Query type Pages

In Omnia 7.11 and later available options differ, depending on if migration to the layout engine has been made, or not.

When migration to the new layout engine has NOT been made (yet), the following settings are available for Pages:

../../../../_images/pages-display-no-migration.png

Settings can be made both for legacy display view and the new display view based on layouts. A default layout is always available. If other layouts are needed, use the Layout settings option, see link below. The legacy settings are similar to the display settings in Omnia 7.10 and earlier, see the end of the page.

Query: For a Pages rollup you can choose one or more page collections, business profiles, publishing apps or the whole tenant.

When you have added a scope for the rollup, you can select where to get the title from and add filters, for each part of the scope:

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-tabs-query-mulitple-type-pages-all-filters-711.png

Display/Display - previewers only: Different name if the migration to the new layout engine has not been made yet, but settings are the same, you select one or more layouts. (see image above)

Form more information on layouts in Omnia 7.11 and later, see: Layout settings

Display - legacy only: If migration to the new layout engine has NOT been made, settings for the legacy page view are still available:

../../../../_images/pages-display-legacy.png

Note! Previewers can choose to use the legacy display or any of the layouts available. Other users can only see the legacy view.

If migration to the new layout engine HAS BEEN MADE, options for legacy settings are no longer available:

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-tabs-query-mulitple-type-pages-all-711new.png

Data mapping: If migration to the new layout engine has NOT been made, only Title format can be set:

../../../../_images/data-mapping-no-migration.png

When migration HAS BEEN MADE, you select properties to get certain information from, and at the bottom you can edit settings for sorting.

Notification: Here you choose if push notifications should be on, and can edit a number of notifications settings.

For sign-off requests, the following settings are avaiable:

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-tabs-query-mulitple-type-signoff-711.png

../../../../_images/tab-sign-off-example-711.png

Display: Contains only settings for sorting.

Notification: You can decide if push notifications should be on or off for this rollup, and set two reminder notifications on or off.

../../../../_images/tab-sign-off-notification-711.png

For an Activity feed tab, the following settings are available:

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-activity-feed-v711.png

Content

The Activity scope can be from the user’s “My subscriptions” or from a “Page collection”.

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-activity-feed-content-v711.png

When you choose “My subscription” no further settings are needed. When selecting “Page collection”, you must select one or more page collections to get the activity feed from.

Display

For Display, a number of detailed view settings are available.

../../../../_images/omnia-feed-activity-feed-display-v711.png

What you do here is to select properties in Omnia that contain the information needed. Note that properties must have been set up in Omnia admin to be available to select here, see: Properties

As the last option you can choose to order for how comments are shown, “Older To Newer” or “Newer To Older”.

Legacy display settings for page (rollup) view

The following settings are available for legacy display. They are similar to the display settings in Omnia 7.10 and earlier, settings for Tab view and Detailed tab view:

../../../../_images/legacy-tab-view-settings-new.png

and:

../../../../_images/legacy-detail-view-settings-frame.png

What you do is select properties for a number of fields and set sorting.
